EDITOR’S NOTE: For the practice and the propaganda of the core values of Chinese socialism, based on collage students’ state of mind, school of public administration has hold a series of forums that reached diverse students. We expected the forums as an education platform that improves students’ moral standard as well as connects different classes, thus contributes to our talent development.
March 23, 2015, school of public administration held the second forum of the series event of Elite Cultivation for student union members in Ningyuan Building. Class Cadres from different classes and the representatives of students attended the forum. Lei Liang, the deputy party secretary of school of public administration and Wang Yiran, the secretary of the Youth League Committee also attended the discussion.
The forum focused on the utilitarian trend of students. Participants expressed their thoughts according to current problems with student management. By fully preparing, there raised a hot discussion.
Zhan Han, the monitor of Grade 2012 regarded that demand-closing and beneficial activities should be held so that to make the student management more appealing. Li Xinwei and Zhang Yangbo, monitors of Grade 2013 both mentioned the importance of the work-shift system. They thought that the shift system would offer more chances for students and arouse their enthusiasm. From the aspect of student management, they recommended to build a helping-system to facilitate mind sharing. Class cadres from Grade 2014 gave out some doubts about class management, cadres from higher grade shared their experiences. Besides, other students also gave out their opinions as common students.
After the speak of students, Lei Liang, the deputy party secretary concluded their opinions. He affirmed their thoughts and pointed out that devotion was essential to the personality development. Class cadres should serve the students. They should be firm with themselves, be of courage, responsibility and confidence. Besides, he also guided their management methods. He recommended the cadres to conclude and innovate so that they can hold more beneficial activities for students. What’s more, they should encourage other students to take part in class management in order to make an excellent united class.
The forum ended in two hours though, the thinking it brought lasts longer. Participants felt it as a platform to combine their theory with practice. It facilitated students’ understanding of management theory. Hope they would do better job in the future.
