A Chorus Competition To Memorize The “December 9th Movement”

Although it was a long time since the “December 9th Movement” took place, students from UIBE never lose their patriotism. December 9th, 2014, school of public administration successfully held a chorus competition to foster and practice core socialist values. By singing those Patriotic songs, the students showed their youthful vigor and their deepest love to our country.

The competition started with an opening dance by the dance troupe of UIBE and the audiences were greatly moved. The competition can be mainly divided into three parts. Eleven teams from different schools came on stage successively.

The first part featured “country” as a subject. School of international relations brought the song called “Heading towards National Renewal” which showed the great faith of national revival. Then came the business school who sang “the Song of the Yangtze River”. They expressed their compliments to the Yangtze River. The school of foreign studies presented the song called “My Country”. They were dressed in Chinese tunic suit so that to evoke our memory of the history. Also, the “Oriental Pearl” sung by school of international trade and economics touched all the audiences.

The second part featured “country” as a subject. School of international studies brought “The Song of Seven Sons” which raised our awareness of unity. School of law sang “Sunshine on the Road” to describe a better future. School of information technology and management dressed in national dress to show their patriotism. School of Chinese language and literature brought “There Is No Difference” with the lyrics of “Experience wind and rain aptness see rainbow, pay out aptness get succeed.”

The third part featured “citizens” as a subject. It indicates the connection between people’s dream and the Chinese dream. Dressed in school uniform, students from school of insurance and economics brought “The Glory and the Dream” and expressed their dreams. The school of public administration sang a song called “Under the Bright Sun” which showed their appreciation to the country. Finally came the school of banking and finance. They brought “Love of the Republic” and showed their deep love to the country.

Between the three parts were the exhibition of patriotic poems and some games. The scene is a warm atmosphere.

After the performance of those 11 teams, students from China Women's University brought three classic songs include “siyahamba”, “Coach Cusick”, “The Moon Represents My Heart”. They were supported by thunderous applause.

Tao Haofei, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee participated in the event. We also invited Li Hongquan and Wang Tian from China Conservatory of Music, Zhao Yixuan from Capital Institute Of Physical Education and the former team leader of chorus UIBE as judges. This event was host by communist youth league of UIBE and supported by school of public of administration.
