SPA Held “Flash Mob” In Honor Of The “December 9th Movement”
In order to recall history, carry forward positive energy, commemorate the “December 9th Movement”, improve the creativity and responsibility of the young, school of public administration held a “Flash Mob” on December 5th, as a part of a series event. Those dancing shows, instrumental performance， vote activities and historic quizzes attracted a lot of students.
Open-air Concert
The first performance was a poetry recitation called “Ode to China”. Five students who dressed in costumes showed their enthusiasm and patriotism with appealing voice.
Then came the well-known songs of “I Believe”, “True Heroes”, “The Most Beautiful Sun” and “My Future Is Not Just a Dream”. Many audiences sang together with performers. The voice of virus instrument added beauty to their performance. The scene was touching, and showed the connotation of the core values of socialism. A participant said the lyrics had reminded him of the spirit of the “December 9th Movement”.
The Guitar Association and Dancing Club also brought their performances that showed the patriotism and progress of young students.
Voting For the Poems
Eight panels presented twenty-two poems from eleven schools. All these inspiring poems were selected from the essay competition online. Participants could vote for their favorite poem with star-shaped stickers.
Although the poems were short, the meaning was long lasting. After appreciating the poems, voters made their choices cautiously. More and more stickers appeared on those panels.
The award-winning works will be presented on the chorus competition on December 9th.
Historic Quizzes
The activity of historic quizzes also attracted many students. The history background of the “December 9th Movement” contained the memory of Chinese’s people’s salvation. By learning about the movement, their sense of responsibility got improved.
The activity was novel and distinctive. It qualified for the personalized needs of college students and contributed to the improvement of our campus atmosphere. By attending the activity, UIBE students will inherit and carry forward the spirit of the movement, cultivate and practice the socialist core values to become socialism successors.
