Commemorative “12.9” serial event: chorus competition

At 18:30, December 6th, commemorative “12.9” campaign chorus competition, held by Youth League Committee of UIBE, organized by School of Public Administration, was performed at Student Recreation Center. Participated guests included secretary of Youth League committee Tao Haofei, transient secretary of Party League committee Lv Weixia, secretaries and vice secretaries of Youth League committee from every school: Wang Zurui, Li Yan, Qin Dongfang, Zhu Zhiwei, Li Chunyu, Wang Yiran, Xu Wenbing, Yan Lihong and instructors from every school: Sun Xiaofen, Liu Yongshuan, Gou Yue. There were 11 schools joining in the contest. Judges were Cai Wei from Staff chorus group, Feng Tianyou from UIBE military band and orchestra, Yang Liu from Labor Union of UIBE and Lv Hang from Chinese Conservatory of Music.

 

After the astonishing opening video of 18th CPC National Congress, the light turned on, following the melody of Country. The opening dancing and sword dancing drove the atmosphere to climax.

 

After the opening show, chorus competition officially started. First chapter is “Independent Dream”. The first song was The Internationale performed by Business School. The deafening slogan, shadowy weaving of red curtain, inspiring sound of singing brought everyone back to that era when Chinese fighting for independence.Whereafter, the last champion,School of International Relations started their show by solo dancing to the song “Azalea”, then all of sudden, bright “Song of guerrilla” rang out, bringing the light into the dark ear.

 

Between two chapters, awarded schools: School of Law (First place), School of International Studies and School of Banking and Finance (Second place) stated the deep meaning of their works, which not only showed the spirit of “12.9” campaign but makers’ environmental awareness.

 

The second chapter is “Peace Dream”. With the recitation, School of Law surprised audience with Chishui River Crossing Battle. School of Public Administration chose a different strategy by inviting kids to sing the opening of Today is your birthday, my home country-China. The dance and singing were as astonishing.While showing “12.9” scenario and calligraphy, School of Banking and Finance performed My country and me, leaving audience a deep impression.

 

Before the next part, there was a video showing all the sub-events: tour in Military Museum, outstanding college student village officer forum, DIY crafts and interviews to students. Then we entered the third chapter, “Revolution Dream”. School of International Studies performed Pearl of the Orient, making all participants deeply engaged. Young Friends Come and Join Together, brought by School of Chinese Language and Literature, was extraordinarily bright. All female singers were in red dresses, along with their creative fan dancing. Last performer in this chapter was School of Foreign Study, who performed Seven Song of the Sons. Sonorous recitation,engaging solo singing and chorus added a perfect ending to the third chapter.

 

After the exhibition of Renren Wall, we entered the last chapter-“Prosperous Dream”. Fiery-red dresses and Five-Starred Red Flag added radiance and beauty to each other. School of International Trade and Economics used real red stars to add light to their song In Bright Sunlight. With dancers dancing in Five-Starred Red Flag, the song led us to new era. As the last performer, School of Information Technology & Management brought audience to the age of revolution by singing Towards Revival. InterlacedGold and black dresses and soaring singing made China dream and Youth dream more inspiring.

 

Hereto, all schools had performed, the following ware On the Taihang Mountain, performed bychorus team of UIBE and intense preemptive Q&A among audience. The last but not least was the most exciting part: score statement and awarding. During this competition, School of International Relations won the award of Best Performance, School of Banking and Finance won the award of Best idea, award of Best organized went to School of Insurance and economics. First place was School of Law, Second place: School of International Trade and Economics, School of International Studies. Third place: School of Public Administration, School of Foreign Studies, School of Information Technology & Management.

   

Commemorative “12.9” serial event had a wonderful closure. It had not just been a audio-visual feast, but the inheritance of “12.9” campaign spirit, showing UIBErs’ constant pursuit of Youth dream and China dream. All the well prepared shows were the best proof. We hope UIBErs’ can inherit the spirit of “12.9” and never stop their journey to Youth dream and China dream.
