“Youth dream, China Dream” - Commemorative “12.9”choruscompetition

Commemorative “12.9 Campaign” chorus Competition was put on stage on December 6th. “12.9” campaign was in the past, but the slogans were still haunting in our hearts, the youth dream it brought us is still blooming, the inspiring singing is still lingering.

 

Secretary of Youth League Committee - Haofei Tao and secretaries from Party Committees and Youth League Committees of each school all participated. Wei Cai (teacher of staff chorus), Tianyou Feng(guide of school’s military band and orchestra), Yang liu(Labor Union staff) and Hang lv (Chinese Conservatory of Music) were invited to serve as judges.

 

The competition fell into four chapters , eleven teams from all schools performed their songs.

 

First chapter is “Independent Dream”. This first song was The Internationale performed by Business School. Dressed up in student’s uniform from the early 20th century, students brought everyone back to that era when Chinese fighting for independence. Whereafter, School of International Relations showed the pain and gain vividly by bringing the song Marching Towards Independence.

 

The second chapter is “Peace Dream”. By their unique combination of old school and modern style, School of Law surprised audience with Chishui River Crossing Battle. Red Army uniform reminded everyone the hard time of Anti-Japanese War, while director’s black full dress naturally dropped the element of trend. School of Public Administration invited kids to sing the opening of Today is your birthday, my home country-China, conveying their blessings to our country with their cute voice. While showing “12.9” scenario and calligraphy, School of Banking and Finance performed My country and me, leaving audience a deep impression.

 

As the third chapter, “Revolution Dream” is more contemporary. School of International Studies performed Pearl of the Orient in dragon-patterned attire. Young Friends Come and Join Together, brought by School of Chinese Language and Literature, was showed along with fan dancing. Starting with recitation, Seven Song of the Sons sung by School of Foreign Study showed everyone the cohesive connection between these seven regions and mainland.

 

Performers from School of Insurance and Economics waving Five-Starred Red Flag started the fourth chapter of “Prosperous Dream”. Their song was The Love to China. School of International Trade and Economics used real red stars to add light to their song In Bright Sunlight. With dancers dancing in Five-Starred Red Flag, the song led us to new era. School of Information Technology & Management added recitation, violin, and calligraphy into their performance of Towards Revival.

 

Along these four chapters, there were exhibition and awarding for DIY works of commemorative “12.9”event. School of International Studies, School of Law, School of Banking and Finance won the competition. Meanwhile, Renren wall kept updating news about chorus. The intense preemptive Q&A among audience showed students’ passion about commemorative “12.9”serial events.

 

After all the team, chorus team of UIBE performed On the Taihang Mountain. Dressed in red, different voice parts brought an audio-visual feast with perfect collaboration.

 

This event is hosted by Youth League Committee of UIBE, organized by Youth League Committee branch of School of Public Administration.
