Cooperation in business education was established in 2013, and student exchanges are normalized now. Every year, Soochow University invites a senior professor in management from UIBE to be a visiting professor in their school and to give lectures.

Professor Fan reviewed the development history of “made in China” and “China’s Capital”, and the new trend of China’s foreign direct investment. Based on this, he put forward the strategic remodeling logic of “dis-embedding and embedding” of “made in China”, which stroke a chord with all the attendees. Before the report, Doctor Zhang Jiayi, president of Tamkang University, and doctor Dai Wanqin, vice president of Tamkang University, talked with professor Fan about cooperation. President Zhang recalled her visit to UIBE in 1996 pleasantly. She said Tamkang University should explore the possibility and feasibility of all-round cooperation with UIBE. At last, they exchanged their souvenirs. Tamkang University, established by Zhang Ming and his son Zhang Jianbang in 1950, is one of the most famous private universities now in Taiwan. On April 25, Professor Fan visited Nestle Co. Ltd. in Taiwai for research. Zhao Junzhe, Chief Technology Officer of Nestle, and Chen Zhengzhe, Directer of Quality Assurance Department, had an in depth interview with Professor Fan. They introduced about how Nestle in Taiwan, as one of the business divisions of Nestle in Greater China, manage its “farm-factory-market” mode industrial chain system in an all round way. They stressed that there was a great difference between the mainland market and Taiwan market both in scale and in attribute. Limited by market scale, production facilities and technology in Taiwan had to be highly resilient. So Taiwan market was characterized with multispecies of small-lot, while mainland could manufacture large batches. Besides the above market differences, there is also a big gap in technical regulations. Test rating for most products before leaving factories are specific and detailed, while there are much fewer requirements in Taiwan technical inspection. For example, there are more than 100 indicators for milk powder inspection in Mainland, while there are only dozens in Taiwan.
