Vice-president of Cargill (China) Co., Ltd. Went to School of Public Administration for Lecturing

On November 27th, 2015, as invited by Professor Fan Libo who is Dean of School of Public Administration, Mr. Ma Zheng, vice-president of Cargill (China) Co., Ltd., gave a lecture named “The Operation Mechanism of Transnational Corporations, Taking Cargill Co., Ltd. for Example” for the undergraduates, graduates, MBA students and PhD students from our university. Professor Fan Libo presided the lecture and extended a warm welcome to Mr. Ma Zheng on behalf of School of Public Administration.

Mr. Ma Zheng once successively worked in such famous transnational enterprises as Kodak, PepsiCo and Cargill, had rich experiences of working in transnational enterprises and had abundant experience in government management and public media management of transnational enterprises. In the lecture, Mr. Ma firstly made a comparison between the definition of transnational enterprises and different organizational framework designs by combining his experience of working in transnational enterprises for many years and then elaborated from the perspectives of organizational structure and business matching. In the meantime, Mr. Ma also deeply expounded such issues concerning transnational enterprises as strategic investment, budget making and human resources. Based on more than thirty years’ operation practices that Cargil had in China, Mr. Ma believed that legal operation mechanism, compliance management, risk management and control and effective executive capacity are the guarantee of transnational enterprises to survive and develop, and corporate culture plays a guiding and restraining role in operation and management practices of transnational enterprises. In short, operation behaviors of transnational enterprises are the behaviors of “century-old shop” though they have never claimed like this.

At last, Mr. Ma interacted and deeply communicated with the students with respect to such issues as differences in corporate culture, cross-cultural communication and development planning of personal professional career in foreign-invested enterprises.
