On August 22, 2015, Professor Wang Shuwen went to Yinchuan to attend 2015 Conference of President of National MPA Cultivation Colleges and Universities held by National Public Administration Professional Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee, and organized by Ningxia University.The main units and personnel attending the meeting were: Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Talent Training Bureau of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, Academic Degrees Committee Office of the State Department, members of National MPA Education Guidance Committee, and presidents, vice presidents or director of the center from more than 200 MPA Cultivation Colleges and Universities.

Once the meeting started, leaders at all levels proposed their expectations and requirements of the future MPA education in China from different angles. Huang Baoyin, Academic Degrees Committee Office of the State Department, analyzed the importance of professional degree education from the current form and task of MPA, and put forward the main problems of current MPA education in China, which should focus on the accurate positioning, good quality, features and abilities. Sun Xueyu, head of Talent Training Bureau of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC and deputy director of National MPA Education Guidance Committee, put forward that the key of current MPA education in China was to improve quality and adjust structure from the aspects of personnel. Yang Qiushi, the former deputy director of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, members of National MPA Education Guidance Committee, by starting from the review of MPA education work of the current session, analyzed the new situation and new requirements the MPA was facing in detail, and then put forward to improve MPA work in China by reform and innovation.

Then, Dong Keyong, Secretary of National MPA Education Guidance Committee made a work report of National MPA Education Guidance Committee in 2014-2015 Academic Year and a review and conclusion the work of this session of committee. He made a general summary from the aspects of recruitment and cultivation, teachers development, evaluation and authentication, case pool construction, cooperation and exchanges, etc., and put forward the main work this session of Committee accomplished. Wang Hongqi, deputy director of the Professional Degree Center of Ministry of Education, introduced the work plan about the quality certification of China's MPA education; Qi Zhongying, Yao Xianguo, Lou Chengwu announced the list of winners of the National Excellent MPA Teachers and Teaching Workers, and the results of outstanding papers respectively. Our Prof. Li Chang’an and Xu Wei were honored as National Excellent MPA Teachers and MPA Teaching Management Workers respectively.

After Secretary Dong Keyong’s speech, people from more than 200 colleges and universities shared and discussed the situation of work report and regional research activities of National MPA Education Guidance Committee. Each groups made overall discussion on the situation at home and abroad and their own university situation. Then they shared their own experience on running school, pointed out the problems existing respectively, made discussed and interaction, and exchanged ideas, which developed a warm atmosphere.

Finally, Dong Keyong, Secretary of National MPA Education Guidance Committee summarized and answered some group questions and expressed his expectations about the future work, which could be mainly summarized as the following aspects: MPA core curriculum construction, teachers platform, selection criteria for excellent thesis, the fourth and fifth MPA field research assessment of this year, the schools’ admissions, the relationship between certification and assessment, regional academics, international exchange organization, improve quality,etc.

This session of “2015 Conference of President of National MPA Cultivation Colleges and Universities” was the biggest conference in size. It was generally accepted that the meeting was with rigorous style, clear theme, rich content, warm discussion, fruitful results. After the summer vacation, National MPA Education Guidance Committee will come to our school to conduct special assessment. It is helpful for us to prepare for the assessment by communicating with other sibling colleges and universities at the conference.
