On September 15, the School of Public Administration held the opening ceremony of 2018 MPA postgraduates, carried out guidance for freshmen, arranged the students to visit the University History Museum, and carried out quality development activities for the freshmen.

At the opening ceremony in the morning, the Deputy Dean of the School, Lu Weixia, made a speech, welcoming all the freshmen to enter the university and put forward requirements for them: first, students should timely put forward comments and suggestions on teaching to the School so as to facilitate the School to grasp the direction of curriculum teaching and improve the quality of teaching; second, students should adapt to the role transformation as soon as possible, abide by the various regulations of the School, and conscientiously complete various learning tasks; third, students should respect teachers, respect and love each other, and keep contact with teachers in daily studying and essay writing.

Subsequently, the faculty representatives of the School, Mr. Song Yantao, Mr. Zhai Dongtang, Mr. Wu Wei and Mrs. Wang Chunrui, introduced the overall academic situation and the faculty strength of the different faculties of the School of Public Administration in turn.

Finally, representatives of MPA graduate students Wu Songli from 2017 grade and Yang Chunmeng from 2018 grade, respectively made speeches to share their experiences in postgraduate entrance examination and postgraduate study. They expressed that they would cherish the opportunities, obey the various regulations and arrangements of the school, and follow the teachers’ instructions.

After the opening ceremony, Chen Zhe, Teaching Director of MPA, gave guidance to all freshmen for newly-started university, and introduced the overall situation of MPA and the composition of the freshmen of 2018 grade. Entrance guidance is provided from four aspects: class, thesis, supervisor and after-class activities. Five tasks for freshmen are listed and explained and demonstrated one by one.

Subsequently, the School of Public Administration organized freshmen to visit the University History Museum.

In the afternoon, the School organized the freshmen to carry out quality development activities, to facilitate the communication and cooperation among the freshmen.

With the strong support of the School leaders and the careful arrangement of the School administrators, the opening ceremony of Grade 2018 MPA graduate students and the Freshmen's Orientation Day of the School of Public Administration has been successfully completed and achieved the expected results. All the freshmen have learned about the history of the university and the overall situation of the School, familiarized themselves with the various rules and regulations of the School and the learning tasks. The freshmen became close within this day and expressed full enthusiasm for the future study.
