In April 30th, the final competition of “Case Center Cup” First China Postgraduate Public Management Administration Case Competition was held at Zijin Harbor campus of Zhejiang University. The “Hat Trick team”, under the guidance of Lei Guo, the associate professor of our school, won the outstanding award in the competition. The contestants were Li Chen, Chuqiao Zhang, Jiawei Liao, Yang Xing, Yan Wu and Lican Fan.
The competition was jointly sponsored by the Degree and Graduate Development Center of Ministry of Education and the National MPA Education Steering Committee. There were 671 teams from 143 colleges and universities throughout the country participating this competition. Our School sent “Take the lead”, “Second bloom” and “Hat Trick” 3 teams. After six months of intense competition and expert evaluation, the case of “Hat Trick team”: “The vaccine tragedy, why inferior vaccines are prevalent despite prohibition”, has been promoted to the top hundred cases and won the outstanding award. With the main line of this case “where does inferior vaccines come from - where do they go - when can they be stopped”, this case did a deep analysis to the history and current situation of the problem, and put forward some feasible countermeasures and suggestions.
During the preparation of the competition, many teachers and students in our school were engaged and coordinated with each other. Dean Libo Fan guided the students during the whole process. After the three teams were formed, a collective meeting was held for case topic selection, Professor Fan expressed prospective and practical opinions of the topic selection, and was concerned about and urged the writing of the case during the whole process. Teacher Zhe Chen organized and coordinated all the affairs of the competition. The preparatory process and achievements of the competition embodied the excellent results of the MPA education of our school, as a national MPA degree conferring unit, and also showed the ability and spirit of students of School of Public Administration.
