In the afternoon January 2th, 2014, the first session of MPA cases study and education seminar of MPA education center was held in the meeting room 620 in Ning yuan Building. Peng Xianggang, dean of the school, Lv Weixia, deputy secretary, vice dean and over 10 professors attended the seminar with Wu Chengzhong, director of the center presided.

Firstly, Wu Chengzhong, associate professor, gave a brief introduction on the background as well as the purpose of this seminar, and he said that holding MPA cases study and education seminar is necessary and requested by China national MPA education supervisory committee. This is also an important indicator for universities with MPA education center to meet the qualified standard of national MPA university education. This seminar aims to resolve the problems and difficulties in MPA education and motivate professors to compile education cases and participate in the national excellent MPA education cases selection so as to improve the quality of MPA education and MPA students.



Professor Bo Yufei addressed on the way of how to do a better case study education and brought many information and updates in this regard. She mentioned that shift from small cases on large cases in MPA case study education is the trend and professors need to be out minded and break old pattern to innovate new style of case study education, trying to cover more knowledge in the process of analyzing cases to increase the students’ ability to think critically.






Later, professors presented in the seminar started heated discussion on the selection of original cases in case writing and pattern design as well as difficulties faced in the process of case study education and shared their experiences and gains with each other.




In the end of the seminar, Peng Xianggang, Dean of the school made a conclusion address, and he pointed out that, MPA cases study and education seminar is helpful to improve the education of MPA students and progress the scientific development for MPA degree and realize the goal of cultivating high-level practical talents in this field. To this end, he also come up with six requests, improve our understanding of the general picture for MPA talents education, make preparation for the future, conduct the evaluation measures and methods in a scientific way, appeal for cooperation and joint discussion, set up samples for demonstration, and better our service by providing relevant supportive policies and rewarding policy system.

After the seminar, all professors from MPA education center signed the task claim paper to compile education cases in 2014.
